About the Play

Poster Design by Jessica Sabogal
Was it murder? Or suicide? In the spring of 1963, a high school baseball player named Richie Kvichak allegedly murders his best friend.  As accusations fly and pressure mounts, Richie’s mother (Susanna Apgar 'AC) must choose to either stand by and hope for the best or protect her son at all costs.

Smith College’s Department of Theatre is proud to present SOME MOTHER’S SON by award-winning playwright Darren Harned (MFA ’11) and directed by Kendra Arimoto (MFA ’11).  Set in Northampton, MA, SOME MOTHER’S SON is sure to be the local hit of the season!
